Doorbell World Doorbell World Windup Doorbells are mechanically operated, requiring no batteries, wiring or electricity. They simply fit to the inside of your front door and give a maintenance free, reliable service. The doorbell uses a clockwork action, needing only an occasional winding of the dome. The Windup doorbells are manufactured and assembled in the UK.
They offer an alternative to wireless doorbells where UPVC door frames (with metal backing for strength and security) can cause problems with wireless signal strength. The clockwork mechanism is released by a thin rod that passes through the door to a bell push button on the outside. This rod is adjustable for different door thicknesses, but where doors are particularly thick, we can supply longer rods up to 12cm. The bell units measure 78mm, (3") in diameter. When fully wound, the bell will ring for approximately 75 seconds, and since a typical visitor will press the bell push for between 2 and 3 seconds, the mechanism will support up to 30 rings.

DeliveryUK orders placed before 10:00am and fulfilled from stock will normally be dispatched within 2 days for 48 hour delivery by Royal Mail, but can be up to 5 working days for non stock, or out of stock, items. Some heavier or longer items will be sent by Royal Mail Parcels. Internet placed orders will receive an email, advising despatch has taken place.
If we are out of stock on a particular item, we will delay the whole delivery where we expect the item to come into stock within 7 days. We will e-mail you if this is likely. We can part ship orders if necessary.
We will deliver part orders where the majority of the items on the order are available, and the outstanding items are unlikely to come into stock within 7 days. In this case we will invoice for the whole order including the items out of stock, and advise you of this on the invoice. The balance of the order will be delivered without additional delivery charges.
We use Royal Mail 1st and 2nd Class tracked and untracked services or Royal Mail Tracked Parcels for heavier or longer cartons for UK mainland deliveries. International orders are shipped by Parcel Force Airmail service with a maximum weight of 3 kg.
Delivery ChargesUK and European UnionThe cost of the UK service is based on the order value of the items sent and will be automatically added on the order form, as follows:

...£100.01 - £150.00 £4.95 (£4.21 ex. VAT)

ExportWe are now able to ship most products to any location in the world for the same price as the United Kingdom. Exceptions, are where the packaging weight is over 3Kg, the maximum for Parcel Force Airmail service. Please email us if you are concerned, regarding the weight of your order, or wish to have a special quoted price for delivery of heavier parcels. Although export items outside the EU are exempt from VAT, the normal VAT tax content will be used to cover the increased shipping cost. The price shown for UK orders in £s, will be the price you pay. Orders will be sent by Parcel Force Airmail service, which can be tracked from the website.
Right to Cancel and Returns for RefundWe offer a no-quibble returns policy. If you decide you do not need the goods, for any reason, they may be returned within 30 days of receipt (at your own expense) for a refund minus the original shipping costs. If the items are faulty, damaged or incorrect we will refund the original shipping costs.
Prior to dispatching goods for return, you must contact us by email or telephone (tel: 01629 831000) to facilitate the process. The returned package should also contain your name, address and the invoice number. Please put a note in the returned package to indicate whether the item is faulty, or just not required.
Goods returned must be in the original condition in which they were supplied and include all items of the product and its packaging. Where the packaging needs to be destroyed to open, we accept return without the external package, however, when the package is a box, and can easily be opened without damage, then we expect the goods to be returned with the box in a new condition.
Goods returned for refund should be sent at your expense to:
DoorbellWorld, 2 Wyvern House, Old Forge Business Park, Guernsey Rd, Sheffield S2 4HG
NB: Until received, the goods remain your property and we recommend suitable packaging and an appropriate level of insurance for their return.
All goods and packaging will be checked carefully and the refund processed as soon as possible. Notification of your refund will be sent by Email or through the post.
Warranty Returns for Replacement or RepairAll products are covered by a minimum 12 month warranty. Some manufacturers offer longer warranty periods. Manufacturer warranties beyond 12 months are supported by manufacturer only, and not by DoorbellWorld. Where a warranty request is required from the manufacturer we will supply copies of the original invoice as a supporting document.
We suggest you do not despatch goods without first contacting us by email or telephone (tel: 01629 831000). The reasons for this are:
- Past experience has shown that apparently faulty goods have sometimes been set up incorrectly, or the instructions have not been as comprehensive as they should be. In these situations the quickest solution to getting the equipment working correctly is for us to give you further advice to avoid incurring unnecessary delivery charges if we are able to resolve the problem.
- We may require you to return individual components rather than the complete product.
- We can advise you on the most appropriate method of returning the goods.
- Defective goods under 30 days old will be returned to us at our expense provided you have discussed with us first on the method of return. We will supply you with a FREEPOST label or download link.
The returned package should contain your name, address, your invoice number, details of the fault or issue.
In most cases, where the product is found to have a valid fault, the warranty permits complete replacement of the defective item free of charge. However, some manufacturers require that the product is returned to them for repair, or that the repair is carried out by ourselves once the defective components have been supplied by the manufacturer. In these cases the repair under warranty, free of charge, will take longer.
NB: Note that DoorbellWorld cannot be held liable for any consequential costs incurred as a direct result of the faulty goods.
Goods returned for repair or replacement should be sent to:
Doorbellworld, 2 Wyvern House, Old Forge Business Park, Guernsey Rd, Sheffield S2 4HG
